State completes investigation into three police officers charged with torturing Cape Town barber
Three police officers appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Friday on charges related to the torture of a Cape Town barber. The arrest followed the assault of a barber at his workplace.The investigation into charges of torture against three police officers has been completed, the Wynberg Magistrate's Court heard on Friday.
It came more than five months after Juma Igiranieza, a barber, was assaulted at his Mowbray workplace, Perfect Touch Boutique and Salon, on 7 November.on 10 November, which showed several officers, one in plain clothes, assaulting Igiranieza. In the footage, at least two officers participated directly in the assault, while other police officers appeared unconcerned.
