Players of Starfield have been noticing that the game's NPCs often look a little teary-eyed. Now, thanks to a modder, that's a problem of the past.

Players of Starfield have been noticing that the game’s NPCs often look a little teary-eyed. Now, thanks to a modder, that’s a problem of the past.on many of the NPCs eyes, that makes those characters look like they’re constantly on the verge of tears. The mod’s already had more than 8K views on Nexus Mod since it was launched just over 24 hours ago, and has plenty of praise from the community who thought that Starfield’s faces looked weird, but couldn’t quite put their finger on why.

It’s been something of a running trend for characters in Bethesda games to have something slightly off about their faces. Since the blocky polygons of Oblivion and the unnaturally fixed gazes in Fallout, faces have often been a sticking point. While Starfields are – on a technical level – the best ones yet, it does seem that there’s something of an uncanny valley about them that’s unnerving players. Just this past weekend,, with some of the odd facial expressions they could pull off.
