Darth Vader may have one more chance to try and overthrow Emperor Palpatine before Return of the Jedi, but will he actually make the attempt?

As seen in Return of the Jedi, Anakin Skywalker was redeemed when he sacrificed himself to save his son, defeating Emperor Palpatine and bringing balance to the Force. However, Darth Vader tried many times in the past to betray and overthrow his Sith master, and one of his final attempts may soon be revealed.
As seen in Marvel Comics' solicitations for January, Greg Pak and Adam Gorham's Darth Vader #42 teases that the titular Dark Lord of the Sith may find himself with a new opportunity to overthrow Palpatine in the months preceding Return of the Jedi. The new cover art by Leinil Francis Yu and synopsis for the upcoming issue can be viewed below :
Darth Vader May Try To Betray Emperor Palpatine Again Based on this new synopsis, it seems Vader may soon have a very important choice to make. Firstly, there's a tease that Vader's connection to the Force will be restored after it had been disrupted in the wake of both the Hidden Empire and current Dark Droids events.
New foes within the Empire will also rise, presumably the "Imperial Schism" referenced by the synopsis. Interestingly enough, the cover art features both Sly Moore and Mas Amedda, two of Palpatine's closest advisors. While they've traditionally been rivals, perhaps they'll unite in an attempt to stage a coup against the Emperor. It's also been confirmed that young Enric Pryde will be featured as well, Richard E.
Darth Vader Has Tried To Overthrow Palpatine Before It's no secret that Darth Vader has tried to overthrow Palpatine before, an expected part of the relationship between a Sith master and apprentice. In the aftermath of A New Hope, Vader tried to secretly raise a droid army against his master but ultimately failed. Likewise, after Luke refused to join him in Empire Strikes Back, Vader attempted to kill his master once more.
