Jonathan Frakes on the upcoming crew conflicts in Picard season 3. “Roddenberry was, for some reason, opposed to conflict. It was a peculiar ask back in the day, but he wanted everyone to get along. Not so much with Terry. He’s really stirred the pot.”

Star Trek star, Jonathan Frakes, recently explained the crew conflicts in Star Trek: Picard season 3. The science-fiction series centers on Sir Patrick Stewart's iconic Starfleet officer, Jean-Luc Picard. Set years after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Picard returns and embarks on new adventures through space and time that reunites him with his old crew.

In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Frakes explained upcoming crew conflicts in Star Trek: Picard season 3. The actor-director recalled franchise creator, Gene Roddenberry's, initial idea to have the USS Enterprise crew work well together with little conflict between them, but the drama coming from the situations the team faced in space. Frakes revealed that much of season 3 will instead feature conflict between the crew.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY “Roddenberry was, for some reason, opposed to conflict. It was a peculiar ask back in the day, but he wanted everyone to get along. Not so much with Terry. He’s really stirred the pot. Conflict, which, as we know, is an absolute necessity in drama.

Star Trek: Picard season 1 and 2 saw several former cast members reprise their roles including Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi, Brent Spiner as Data, John de Lancie as Q, Will Wheaton as Wesley Crusher, Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan, and Frakes as Riker. Season 3 is expected to include more Star Trek: The Next Generation crew including LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge, Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher, and Michael Dorn as Worf.

With Star Trek: Picard season 3 as the show's last, the 10 episodes will be Stewart's final portrayal of the legendary Starfleet commander. Although the show's executive producer, Terry Matalas, previously revealed that season 3 will be a continuation of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, the final season will also call back to the Star Trek of old with its powerful score.
