Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Star Trek: Discovery showrunner wouldn't change anything about season 5 even if she'd known going in it would be Discovery's final season. Star Trek: Discovery season 5 premieres Thursday, April 4, on Paramount+.

Prior to the world premiere of Star Trek: Discovery season 5 at SXSW, showrunner Michelle Paradise spoke to Screen Rant about the final season. When asked if there's something she would have changed about Star Trek: Discovery season 5 if she'd known at the outset it would be the end of the series, Paradise says she is proud of Discovery season 5 and there isn't anything she would have done differently.

We didn't know going into the season that it would be our final season. But I think what we are exploring thematically, and in terms of our characters’ emotional arcs, it ultimately feels very satisfying. I don't think we would have done anything differently, even if we had known that it was going to be our final season. And then, fortunately, the studio and the network gave us the opportunity to go back and do some additional shooting, so that we could wrap up the series as a whole.
