Star-struck woman fleeced by conman posing as Jason Statham
London - A scammer duped a woman out of an astonishing hundreds of thousands of pounds by posing as actor Jason Statham.
The fraudster encouraged her to use the encrypted WhatsApp service, before bombarding her with hundreds of messages over several months. At one point, the victim asked the inevitable question: ‘I thought you were in a relationship?’ The fraudster replied: ‘Don’t believe all you read in the papers.’
