Nick Bjugstad recorded two goals as Oilers take 3-2 series lead over Kings.
On the ensuing powerplay, Tyler Seguin found his team-leading fourth goal to make it 1-0 for the Stars quickly. Later on in the first, 100-point man, Jason Robertson fired home a wrist shot to make it 2-0. Robertson then laid a monster hit at center ice on Connor Dewar, getting a loud cheer from the fans at the American Airlines Center. Is playoff Robertson a new Robertson?
Meanwhile, Mason Marchment put home a quick rebound off a shot from Seguin in the second period. Stars forward Roope Hintz picked up assists on all three goals, giving him 11 points in the postseason, which puts him first across the league. Late in the third period, with an empty net, Stars’ Ty Dellandrea scored his first career playoff goal, sealing the game. Jake Oettinger registered his second career postseason shutout. The Stars now take a 3-2 series lead.
Drew Doughty laid the body in the second period with a few big hits to try and get the Kings’ momentum rolling. Then a scary moment when Oilers’ Philip Broberg lost an edge and slammed into the boards, he was slow to get up but remained in the game. The intensity remained throughout the second period as both teams battle it out to get that 3-2 series edge. With about 10 minutes remaining in the second, Oilers Nick Bjugstad scored his first goal of the playoffs to make it 4-2.
