STAMPS NOTES: Bell ready to answer call to step in at centre Stampeders CFL
It won’t hurt having veterans like Derek Dennis and Ryan Sceviour around, but he’s not backing away from making calls and taking on that leadership role.
“Everything’s staying the same with the system, so I’m trying my best to make all those calls,” Bell said. “I’ve been doing a good job this week so we also have lots of good vets on the team, so it’s great to have those fail-safes where if they see something differently than I do we can communicate that out and make sure everyone’s on the same page.
“I’ve been preparing like I am, just in case, the whole way,” Kilam said. “Dave’s not ruled out yet, he has some more tests tomorrow and then there’s a late plan if that doesn’t work for the next day, too. We’re just preparing, myself and the rest of the coaching staff, to handle our business.”Ka’Deem Carey didn’t practise on Tuesday or Wednesday because of a hamstring issue, but the Stampeders haven’t ruled him out of Friday’s game.
