St. Joseph (Hamm.) wins 3rd place, Egg Harbor takes 5th place
Ava Fisher of St. Joseph pitches during the NJSIAA Non-Public B softball championship game between Morris Catholic and St. Joseph at Kean University in Union, NJ on 6/9/23.Ava Fisher threw a three-hitter, striking out 15 and walking one, as St. Joseph blanked Paul VI 7-0 to take the fifth-place game at the South Jersey Classic in Hammonton.
Fisher also finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and a home run while Abby Willis went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI for St. Joseph , which has won three of its last four games. Lanie Giovinazzi scored two runs and Kylie Tomlin was 2-for-4.Egg Harbor jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the third inning on its way to a 12-2 win to take fifth place over Hightstown in the South Jersey Classic in Hammonton.
