St. Johns County Parks and Recreation is launching a new campaign to reduce vandalism in their parks. This comes after tens of thousands of dollars were spent to make repairs in the last few years.

The county said they’ve spent nearly $75,000 on repairs at county parks between the last two fiscal years. They’re saying this is a costly issue that takes up too much of law enforcement’s time when incident reports are made. A public kick-off event for the campaign is expected to happen on April 5. The campaign will roll out a parks ambassador video series featured across the county’s social media platforms over the next few months.
