Postmedia file photoAfter a series of delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, St. John’s will finally host the 2022 men’s and master men’s Canadian fastpitch championships this week.
Galway enters the tournament as the two-time defending champions on the hunt for their third national title in four years. In total, the team has won seven championships in the last decade, including in 2016, when the national tournament was last held in St. John’s. On top of the three Newfoundland teams, there are teams from Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario , Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Canadian under-23 development team.
