A charity golf tournament in memory of late Hudson & Rex producer Paul Pope is scheduled for Sept. 16 at Admiral’s Green in St. John’s. FileST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The crew behind Newfoundland-based TV showThe inaugural Paul Pope Memorial Golf Tournament will take place on Sept. 16 atOrganizers said all proceeds from the tournament will go to the Paul Pope Legacy Fund, which looks to honour Pope’s contributions to the community.

It's purpose is to help individuals, groups or organizations based in Newfoundland and Labrador that advance the causes and interests that Pope advocated for during his life, particularly in the fields of film, television, theatre and the arts community. Pope was known as a prolific film and television producer who worked tirelessly to support the local arts community. He was also a passionate voice for independent production on a national level, helping to ensure that Canadian stories are brought to the screen.

We have some sad news - Paul Pope, a dear friend, colleague and Executive Producer on Hudson & Rex, has passed away. He was a partner on seven Shaftesbury projects, a beloved figure in the industry, and a force in Newfoundland. His family and friends are in our thoughts.
