Tough and competitive, Davis is the kind of player likely to log steady, productive minutes in the NBA as a rookie.He does not come with the top-end burst that typifies the most explosive guards in this year’s draft. He does not play above the rim. He shot only 30 percent from 3-point range last season, and though that can improve with time and work in the NBA, he does not project to be an elite shooter.On paper, that would make him the perfect Spurs role player.
