South Africa's matchday 23 includes a whole new backline and eight personnel changes in total as Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus tries to minimise the effects of just a six-day preparation week.
LONDON - World champions South Africa have made a mammoth 12 changes to their starting side for Saturday's match against England at Twickenham.
Siya Kolisi returns to captain the team, who this year added the southern hemisphere Rugby Championship title to their back-to-back World Cup crowns, having come off the bench in Edinburgh. Erasmus opted for a more conventional 5-3 split between forwards and backs on the bench against England, having deployed his celebrated 'Bomb Squad' featuring seven forwards among the replacements at Murrayfield.
"It obviously has a knock-on in effect in the sense that we've made 12 changes to the starting lineup, but we have been rotating our squad all season."
