Spring ISD Education Foundation board members and supporters celebrate the foundation’s Grant Express program during which grants are awarded to teachers.The Spring ISD Education Foundation awarded more than $13,000 to classrooms across districts ahead of the upcoming holiday.—was able to distribute a total of $13,713 in grants to help teachers with classroom projects, technology, learning tools and more, a Spring ISD press release announced.

“I just wanted to say thank you very much for considering this grant,” Spring ISD teacher Lisa Evans, the grant recipient, said in the press release. “But honestly, without the HIVE, this would not have happened. Reynolds Elementary was awarded $981 to create a library makerspace. Claughton Middle School received $1,852 to provide polytechnic program students with tools, such as iPads, to make digital art. Hirsch Elementary was awarded $710 for robotics to help students develop their STEAM skills.
