“I’m just so happy and proud of Roberson Middle School being recognized because that type of work is what we do districtwide,” said Superintendent Lupita Hinojosa. Spring ISD had multiple Gold Ribbon schools this year including Ginger McNabb Elementary, Anderson Elementary and Carl Wunsche Sr. High. Before the pandemic, Spring ISD had 35,000 students and when school resumed, only 33,000 came back to classes. However, she said, the district has seen enrollment grow since then and Spring ISD currently has 34,200 students.
Spring ISD is also focused on mental health for students and teachers. Hinojosa said the district plans to implement mental health discussions into its curriculum at elementary schools to help students. Spring ISD recently approved two additional wellness days for employees.
