A Spider-Man 2099 cosplay unleashes Miguel O’Hara’s darkest superpower. While Spider-Man 2099 shares similar powers with his contemporary counterpart, he also possesses unique skills of his own. One of them is the ability to secrete a highly potent toxin that can incapacitate some of Marvel’s heaviest hitters, and now cosplayer gracefully_cosplay has brought it to chilling life in a gender-swapped shoot.

The Spider-Man of the distant future was Miguel O’Hara, a geneticist who obtained spider-like powers after an accident. O’Hara possesses the proportional strength and speed of a spider, as well as the ability to stick to walls, powers that place him in a similar class as Peter Parker.
Spider-Man 2099 Has Teeth... Literally Gracefully_cosplay unveiled the shoot in a post on Instagram. Shot at this year’s Metrocon, the first photo shows gracefully_cosplay poised and ready for combat. She is also baring her fangs, a fierce look on her face. The second photo gives fans a closer look at gracefully_cosplay’s face, with an extra emphasis on the fangs.
Spider-Man 2099 Is Not Just a Cheap Peter Parker Knockoff When writer Peter David and artist Rick Leonardi created Spider-Man 2099, they wanted to set him apart from Peter Parker, and the best way to accomplish this was to give him new and different powers grounded in science. Real-world spiders have fangs and some are poisonous, just like Miguel O’Hara. Giving him these grotesque abilities ensured that he would stand on his own and not simply be a Peter Parker clone.
