The Boksburg SPCA’s Christmas Cheer Fund, which started on November 1 and runs until the end of the first week of January, is off to a slow start.
Again this year, the SPCA hopes to raise R100 000 to care for the animals over the festive season when its kennels are overwhelmed and undertake projects. These donations helped the SPCA sterilise animals and do a kennel re-roofing project, among other initiatives. This year’s projects include spay cradles and a theatre light for the clinic, dry and wet cat and dog food, cat carriers, cat traps, dog crates, collars, leashes and medical supplies.“We have not received any donations for the Christmas Cheer Fund yet. Any support would be appreciated, and no donation is too small,” she said.
The society urges residents and its followers on social media to donate R75 to celebrate the Boksburg SPCA’s 75th birthday in February.Boksburg SPCAAccount number: 4046388139, with your reference as “Christmas Cheer” and your name/anonymous.The Boksburg Advertiser regularly publishes an updated list of donors on its website.
