The kittens were tied inside a plastic shopping bag that ironically read “Love You.”
The B.C. SPCA is appealing to the public to help find the person responsible for throwing two newborn kittens into a Vancouver dumpster.
On April 19, two one-day-old kittens were stuffed inside a plastic bag and abandoned in a dumpster located inside a secured parking area at 1040 Pacific Street. The kittens, who were suffering from both hypothermia and dehydration, were discovered by a passerby who heard sounds coming from inside the bin.“We responded immediately and transported them for emergency care, but sadly they were too weak and compromised to survive,” said Eileen Drever, senior officer of protection and stakeholder relations for the B.C. SPCA. “This is an absolutely heartbreaking case, where two innocent animals were thrown out like trash to die.
She added that abandoning an animal is against the law and individuals can be prosecuted for their crime.
