Organisers of the Halfway Fireworks Display are seeking sponsorship to continue the event.
The Halfway Fireworks Display has been run for around eight years by Glenn Jamieson of the 217 Gilbertfield Company Boys' Brigade and volunteers from community group Particp8 Overton, attracting between 5000 to 5500 visitors.
The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.Glenn Jamieson said: “We are a community event and we club together to make this the biggest and best that we possibly can. “However, this year, the Boys' Brigade, who were our insurer, decided that the event is now too big for them to ensure. Therefore, we have had to go and source our own insurance, which has cost us over £2000. The cost of living, generally, has increased too, so it has come at quite a cost.
“That would be very sad because of how big a crowd we get. We need some sort of corporate sponsor or business to get behind us and help this community day continue.”
