SpaceX has said in a blog post that issues raised to delay the launch of Starship are 'frivolous' and 'patently absurd'.

Despite this, SpaceX will still seemingly tow the line regulators put out for it because it has little choice but to tow that line.Titled “Starships are meant to fly” the blog trumps up SpaceX’s many victories with its Starship spacecraft and then turns into a critique of regulations and regulators that prevent Starship from launching whenever SpaceX wants to launch the rocket.

But the company takes a turn and begins slamming regulators for delaying this potentially dangerous launch attempt. SpaceX says that the licensing process has been derailed by “frivolous” and “patently absurd” issues. The firm goes so far as to claim these issues are “built on bad-faith hysterics from online detractors or special interest groups who have presented poorly constructed science as fact”. It reads like Elon Musk’s Twitter, sorry X, rants if we’re honest.

As for the environment, SpaceX says it has over 200 measures in place to monitor the short and long-term health of local flora and fauna that surrounds Starbase. On this the company says that its impact on the environment is minimal and it takes all the precautions it can to ensure that wildlife and plant life aren’t harmed during launches.

The core of the problem however, is that the bureaucratic process to get approval for launches is prone to interference and subject to too many delays, often with concerns about the environment the cause of those delays. While Starship has been ready to launch since last month, the next flight could only launch in November at the earliest, a delay SpaceX won’t entertain.

It’s not clear what agenda regulators have to delay Starship launches, SpaceX’s blog cites nameless detractors and special interest groups but never outlines why authorities would want to cause delays. In fact, it’s in the interest of US lawmakers to speed things up what with NASA hoping to return to the Moon this decade.
