Soweto Giants’ Keeper Conundrum Opens Door For Mothwa
DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA - MAY 12: Itumeleng Khune of Kaizer Chiefs during the DStv Premiership match between AmaZulu FC and Kaizer Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium on May 12, 2024 in Durban, South Africa.
According to Siya sources, Kaizer Chiefs are in the market for an experienced goalkeeper, and this suggests it could be the end of the road for Itumeleng Khune. Soccer Laduma reported earlier this month that Khune’s future was set for prolonged discussions at Naturena despite Amakhosi making it clear in July last year that the one-year contract extension offered at the time would be his last.
It has emerged that AmaZulu veteran shot-stopper Veli Mothwa is a potential replacement, although no formal discussions have been held with the Bafana Bafana international at this stage.Get 14 days free to read all the stories on SNL24.com.
