Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has given insight into the targets they set, indicating that the club wanted to get 21 points in the first 10 matches.

After their goalless draw against AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Saturday, Amakhosi are on seven points after six matches. They are already going to miss out on their target, because the maximum number of points they can get after 10 matches is 19, which is two shy of the points the club aimed for. The Soweto giants, though, have not been so consistent, so there are no guarantees that the side will collect maximum points in their next four matches.

"Look, the target was to get 21 points in 10 games. When you analyze our league, in 30 games, if you get 21, 21, 21... It gives you 63 points. The chances are huge. It's either you will be competing or up on the log. We told ourselves that we need to win this one and it would still have given us that opportunity to get to 21 points. Now that means we will be two points short in terms of reaching our target.

"I cannot fault the performance . The boys did their best, but unfortunately, we did not have that killer instinct to kill the game off. I think we can learn from this one and focus more on the positives."
