The restaurant has joined forces with Sefton Advocacy Centre to make a difference in the community

Lord Street based restaurant Bistrot Pierre has joined forces with Sefton Advocacy Centre to support elderly people struggling with loneliness and the devastating impacts of the cost of living crisis this winter. The scheme allows diners celebrating the festive season with friends and family to help others during a difficult time.

For every Sunday Christmas party booking of six people or more in December, Bistrot Pierre will gift a free three-course meal to a carer or charity user nominated by the Sefton Advocacy Centre. The meal will be redeemable throughout January 2023.Sefton Advocacy provides independent, free and confidential help and support to people in Sefton.

Nick White, CEO of Bistrot Pierre, said: "Community is at the heart of what we do at Bistrot Pierre. There has never been a more important time to throw open our doors and welcome in those most at need within the communities we are based. "As a thank you to our customers who continue to support us, we thought it fitting to reward their loyalty by supporting those who are vulnerable this year with a much-needed treat courtesy of Bistrot Pierre, and we hope customers will want to get involved and make a difference to the lives of those living alone in Southport.

"We are still taking bookings for our Christmas period, so we're encouraging customers to try and be as generous as possible and enjoy a little bit of festive fun with us, which will also help those unsung residents in the area. I want to thank Sefton Advocacy for their support and for their tireless work with those in their community. And, most importantly, we hope everyone has a very merry Christmas.

Strengthening the Link between Vaccine Predispositions and Vaccine Advocacy through CertaintyStrengthening the Link between Vaccine Predispositions and Vaccine Advocacy through CertaintyBackground. Instruments designed to assess individual differences in predispositions towards vaccination are useful in predicting vaccination-related outcomes. Despite their importance, there is relatively little evidence regarding the conditions under which these instruments are more predictive. The current research was designed to improve the ability of these kinds of instruments to predict vaccination advocacy by considering the certainty associated with the responses to vaccination scales. Method. Across two studies, participants completed the Beliefs about Medicines Questionnaire BMQ scale (Study 1) or the Vaccination Attitudes Examination (VAX) scale (Study 2). The certainty participants had in their responses to each scale was either measured (Study 1) or manipulated (Study 2). Intentions to advocate in favor of vaccination served as the criterion measure in both studies. Results. As expected, the scales significantly predicted vaccination advocacy, contributing to enhancing the predictive validity of the instruments used in the studies. Most relevant, certainty moderated the extent to which these scales predicted vaccination advocacy, with greater consistency between the initial scores and the subsequent advocacy willingness obtained for those with higher certainty. Conclusions. Certainty can be useful to predict when the relationship between vaccination-related cognitions (i.e., beliefs or attitudes) and advocacy willingness is likely to be stronger.
