The latest atmospheric-river system has dumped rain just about everywhere in Southern California in the last day or so, and snow at higher elevations. The system will persist throughout Wednesday, March 22, with rain and thunderstorms, mostly dissipating by Thursday, March 23. Southern California is expected to be home to a dry and cool weekend, with not much if any rain through Monday.The 24-hour precipitation totals, as of about 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, from the National Weather Service show some significant numbers:
— Chino Airport, 1.47 inches– Huntington Beach, 1.44 inches– Long Beach, 1.53 inches– Northridge, 0.97 inches– Temecula, 2.14 inches– Yorba Linda, 1.44 inches Since the first day of the rainy season, which meteorologists consider Oct. 1, Long Beach has recorded nearly 20 inches of rain, the Riverside Airport has absorbed 11.81 inches, and downtown Los Angeles has collected 25.74 inches of rain.Related Articles
