Southern Alberta man arrested for alleged child sexual exploitation

A 35-year-old Coleman man has been charged by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams' internet child exploitation unit for alleged child sexual exploitation offences.Officers with ALERT's internet child exploitation unit arrested the 35-year-old on Aug. 18 with the assistance of the Crowsnest Pass RCMP, according to a release on Monday.The suspect's name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
The unit began investigating the suspect after the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre shared information about someone uploading child sexual exploitation material to a social media network that depicted young children.During an initial forensic analysis, investigators discovered sexual offences being committed against a child who was known to the suspect.The investigation is ongoing and more charges are being considered.
