Good news as that South Africa Airways announces additional aircraft ahead of the peak season:
The airline announced that it will be bringing in more planes to add to its fleet that’s currently in operation.International Air Services Licensing Council cancelled 20 of the SAA’s 52 route licences last September.plans to add three A320 planes with the first aircraft having been delivered already and the rest to follow in the next two months.and Johannesburg to Gaborone, Livingstone, Luanda, Lusaka, Maputo, Victoria Falls and Harare.
SAA’s Chief Commercial Officer , Tebogo Tsimane said the busiest routes – Cape Town and Harare – are now serviced by larger airbuses. The SAA’s business strategy extends to the airline “replacing its A340-300 with a similar capacity aircraft and exit the A319 fleet next year”. The national flag carrier airline hints there is a lot of work to be done as it recovers from the pandemic interruptions and oversight of matters relating to the equity partner that disturbed its operations.
