No response from SAPS on whether the three are still employed or on duty
The investigation into charges of torture against three police officers has been completed, the Wynberg Magistrates' Court heard on Friday.
Manuel, Conradie and Maroon were arrested by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate on 22 April in Mowbray, Cape Town. The accused face charges of unlawfully and intentionally committing torture by"assaulting the complainant Igiranieza with fists, a baton, pepper spray and a plastic bag in order to obtain information from him," according to the court's charge sheet.
After their court appearance on Friday, the three officers could be seen chatting outside at the court's steps before leaving.
