The South African government has announced that it has taken over ownership of the Postbank from the Post Office, as part of its pursuit of state bank objectives. However, there are concerns about the government's ability to run a bank effectively.

Something that we are looking at in the financial services space is the Postbank . We received a very interesting announcement from the government, saying that it has taken over ownership of the Postbank from the Post Office . Now, we knew that this was gazetted as part of legislation a while ago and was in the works. But it looks as though the government of South Africa is now actively pursuing their state bank objectives.
