Durban-born Ryder Spencer played a stand-out role for the Isle of Man at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifiers.
Image: SuppliedHe joined Cronkbourne Cricket Club in Douglas later that same year where his talent was quickly recognised.During the 2017 season, Spencer was selected for the U11 Isle of Man cricket team, kick-starting his Isle of Man career across the various age groups.
The qualifiers offered invaluable experience in competing on the international stage, which for several of the youngsters was the first such occasion.He showcased his all-round abilities with notable performances against Sweden, France and Belgium in particular. He then played a match-winning knock of 61 not out, including the match-winning boundary that secured victory for the Isle of Man.The experience in Denmark has further fueled Spencer’s passion for the game of cricket.
A Cape cobra, estimated to be around 1.8 metres in length, was spotted on Hout Bay Beach in Cape Town over the weekend.
