Gunmen fire 75 rounds at Northwest Side apartment — amazingly, no one was injured
Gunmen unleashed a torrent of gunfire at an apartment on the Northwest Side on Friday night, and police said they found more than 75 shell casings at the scene.at 5100 Northwest Loop 410 shortly before 10 p.m. in response to a 911 call.
The complex, a cluster of two-story buildings, lies just south of the Loop 410 access road and a half-mile northeast of Neff Middle School.“Numerous bullet holes were observed on the exterior walls of the apartment,” a San Antonio Police Department report said. “Over 75 rifle and pistol shell cases were found on the ground outside.”
The door to the apartment had been forced open, and officers saw traces of blood in the entryway, the report said. Police searched the unit but found no one. During a wider search of the complex, the officers located the victims of the assault and a suspect, identified only as an 18-year-old Hispanic male, the SAPD report said.
