Residents in Johannesburg are still experiencing water shortages 12 days after power outages at Rand Water's Eikenhof pump station. The outages affected multiple areas in the city, with the Randburg system only receiving water flow on Tuesday night due to a valve not being turned on.

Some Johannesburg residents still have no water, 12 days after the first of several power outages at Rand Water 's Eikenhof pump station. Eikenhof supplies half of the city with water, and due to three power outages on 3, 4 and 10 March, systems in Soweto, Randburg, Roodepoort, and south and central Johannesburg suffered water outages. While most systems are recovering and supplying residents with water, the Randburg system did not have water flow into the system until Tuesday night.

This was after technical teams discovered that a valve that supplied water to the parts of the Randburg water system had not been turned on
