The portfolio committee chair Khusela Diko commended all six candidates as highly qualified.
The candidates include Mohale, the executive deputy chairman of the National Youth Development Agency; Lewis, a former Icasa council member and consultant; Maumela, a senior machine learning engineer at Vodacom; Matseke, the former executive manager of telecoms at Transnet; Mthethwa, the executive for the national broadband plan at Telkom; and Gabriel, executive director of the Institute of Stakeholder Relations. The new councillors must address issues like outdated policies, fast-paced technology changes, and postal service regulation
