Chicago firefighters battled an electrical vault fire in the West Loop Wednesday morning.
A West Loop hotel had to be evacuated after a fire in a ComEd vault.The fire prompted a Level 2 Hazmat response with a nearby hotel evacuated, Chicago Fire Media said.Chopper7 flies above an electrical vault fire in the West Loop.
"There was a loud kind of explosion and it smelled like burned coffee actually, not so much just roasting coffee and then the fire alarm went off," hotel guest Robert Watkins said. "They went door-to-door, the hotel did a great job getting everybody out.
