We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer II to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL , CICS , DB2 , and JCL , with experience in maintenance programming and enhancements. This role will involve a mix of development, maintenance, user support , and compliance with organizational standards.Maintain existing COBOL / CICS / DB2 programs to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
Assist users with queries and provide technical support to resolve issues.Scheduling & Job Control:Monitor scheduled jobs and take necessary actions to address failures or delays.Provide after-hours support and standby, responding promptly to critical issues as they arise.Adhere to all Nedbank standards and processes in development and maintenance activities.Required Qualifications & Experience: Proficient in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL with practical experience in the aforementioned technologies.Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development and maintenance, specifically in a legacy environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.This position may require participation in an on-call support rotation. Candidates must be willing to comply with all organizational standards and undergo any necessary training or certification
