The disturbing video, which went viral in January, depicts the individual repeatedly kicking and beating the crocodile before striking it multiple times in the mouth with a slasher.
After gathering substantial evidence, a joint operation by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) successfully located and identified the suspect in Duthuni, a village near Thohoyandou in Limpopo. \National Inspector White, leading the investigation, with the invaluable assistance of the SAPS and the Louis Trichardt SPCA, arrested the suspect on Thursday. The NSPCA expressed their concern about the growing trend of individuals filming animal cruelty for social media entertainment. 'This arrest is a significant step in holding animal abusers accountable, particularly those who commit such heinous acts for social media notoriety,' stated Peacock.
