So-called 'uppity African' Tyla shuts down haters as Victoria's Secret headliner
In the wake of American X’s latest anti Tyla rant, Victoria Secret has announced the US based South African dynamite as their musical headliner next month.Following two viral videos - one where trolls mistook her request for Lil Nas X to hold her award as disrespect to Halle Bailey and branded her"uppity African", and another where she low key denounces Usher, old enough to be her dad - for getting uncomfortably too close, Tyla has been trending consistently since last weekend.
Much to the dismay of cyber bullies, Tyla will live out some of their dreams rubbing shoulders with industry veteran and Americas Next Top Model founder Tyra Banks, 2016 British Council’s International Model of the Year Gigi Hadid and other top models on the Victoria runway. Paparazzi, content creators and glam fanatics are expected to focus their camera lenses on Victoria’s Secret latest creations on 15 October at the intimate fashion powerhouse’s glitzy comeback.
Backlash against its alleged resistance to inclusivity in 2019 led to its fashion show being cancelled. Growing up, I was captivated by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – the stunning outfits, iconic wings, and charismatic models. Now, I’m thrilled to be performing on this nostalgic and legendary stage. What’s even more exciting is the celebration of diversity, showcasing a broader range of beauty, which makes this moment truly special.
