Councillors want to rename streets in Glasgow to recognise the achievements of women throughout the city’s history.
It is part of a proposal to celebrate Glasgow’s “forgotten women” when the city celebrates its 850th anniversary in 2025.council
She said: “The public spaces we pass through every day are almost exclusively dedicated to men; the great, the good and sometimes the not-so-good. In 2025 Glasgow will mark 850 years since it became a Burgh of the Barony, which she said provides “an opportunity for the city to celebrate”.
