The TTC is preparing for a tough commute home as a winter storm descends on the city.

As part of the Severe Weather Plan, the TTC is also deploying extra staff and vehicles, as well as extra anti-icing protocols on streets and streetcar wires. If at all possible, people are being asked to avoid parking vehicles on the road during and after snowfall to make it easier for plows to get through.using the city’s real-time online map“Residents are asked to be patient while crews are at work and wait at least 16 hours after the snow stops falling before connecting with 311 to create a service request,” says the city.

He asked that operators be allowed to finish their plowing, “and then notify us to identify any areas we may have missed or need further work,” he said.When will snow clearing begin?The city is monitoring the weather forecast and road conditions and will deploy crews and equipment as soon as required.
