Snow-go zone: Eastern Cape mountain passes closed following heavy snowfall
Heavy snowfall in the Eastern Cape prompted authorities to close some roads on Tuesday morning as a precautionary measure.
The Eastern Cape Department of Transport said Penhoek Pass on the N6 between Komani and Jamestown, Barkly Pass on the R58, and Wapadsberg Pass on the R61 between Graaff-Reinet and Cradock had all been closed. "We recommend that motorists either delay their travel time or use alternative routes. Please drive with caution and plan accordingly for potential delays in all our mountain passes," said spokesperson Unathi Binqose.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
