I wanna bring hockey to our community,” he shared with his 80.1 million followers on Instagram.
According to a report by the Athletic, the rapper is one of about 12 investors in the same group, many of whom are people of colour trying to grow the game of hockey in the minority communities. They would be facing some other Hollywood competition already in the race for the Senators ownership.are reported to be preparing a $1 billion offer.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has said that midsummer is the likely time frame for final approval for a sale. Bettman said in March that there are about half a dozen candidates still in the mix to purchase the club. The team has been under the management of sisters Olivia and Anna Melnyk for over a year since their father Eugene Melnyk died of an undisclosed illness in March last year.
