The concerts were set to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Long Beach rapper’s debut album.
“We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show,” Snoop Dogg said in a post viaon Tuesday, July 25. “We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a real proposal and we can all get back to work.
The shows were supposed to be in celebration of the rapper’s massively successful debut album, “Doggystyle,” which was released on Nov. 23, 1993 and contained the single “Gin and Juice.” Snoop & Co. initially pushed the shows to October when the WGA went on strike against the Hollywood studios, represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
It’s unclear if the shows will happen once the strike is over, but fans that purchased tickets to the Los Angeles dates will receive refunds credited to the original payment method. Refunds are expected to be processed within a week, according to the
