who, donning their best Prince garb, participated in a “Prince-off.” In the competition, they each performed the iconic guitar lick from Prince’s “Kiss” with different prompts. Despite their pretty equal performances, Redd’s Jordan Peele and casting directors couldn’t make a call. “I’m sorry I don’t think I could cast a white guy to place Prince,” Redd tells Malek, just before he says it’s more fitting to cast Thompson who’s racially more fitting for the role.
