DOTHAN, Ala. - The Dothan Leisure Services Therapeutic Recreation program is sponsoring the “Smile, Sparkle, and Shine Pageant” on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Dothan Opera House at 6:30 p.m.
The event provides an opportunity to spotlight the special needs population, specifically those 12 and up, and the local law enforcement. Wednesday’s pageant will bring together queens from around the Wiregrass, the Dothan Police Department, and a host of volunteers for an unforgettable evening. They go all out! Contestants spend months prepping for the pageant, picking out their perfect gown long before the event.
The girls get their hair and makeup done and are escorted on the stage by officers from the Dothan Police Department.The event is free to the public for those who want to be a part of the Smile, Sparkle, and Shine Pageant.
