The Quinte Skyhawks Under 14 team has made local football history.

The Skyhawks rallied to defeat the Sarnia Sturgeons 24-21 to win the “AA” Sandy Ruckstuhl Ontario Cup Championship in Windsor over the weekend. The Skyhawks trailed 20-16 at the half but came back in the fourth quarter with Marko Fobert scoring from the ten yard line followed by a two point conversion.The Quinte Under 16 Skyhawks were also in Windsor. They lost 16-10 to Huronia.

Skyhawks coach and president Peter Gabriel said “What an amazing accomplishment for our organization. From a small town to a big stage we did it! We became Ontario Champions. So proud of our organization, coaches, players and the 100’s of fans that came out today to support us! Wow words can’t describe how proud I am in this moment!”
