. Today, we can share a first-look clip from the pic, which will debut in the festival’s Critics’ Week sidebar.
The film follows Adam Muhammed, a man in his mid-thirties who lives a life of isolation, having carefully constructed a routine that protects him from the unexpected. Upon hearing that his estranged father, Hassan, has died, Adam finds himself thrust out of his static existence in search of answers.
The synopsis reads: As Adam pieces together a strange and complicated image of his father, he learns Hassan, adopted as a child, once told Adam’s uncle that he believed he ‘was sent from somewhere else.’ Adam’s mind is drawn to the strange episodes he has been having, in which he blacks out, beautiful lights appear, and voices beckon him closer. He thinks about his inability to communicate and connect with people and how he’s never fit in with those around him.
The film was produced by Michelle Stein . Exec producers are David Kimbangi, Kristin Irving, and Caroline Cooper Charles. Cast features Faraz Ayub, Natalie Gavin, Claire Rushbrook, Simon Nagra, Steve Oram, Jeff Mirza, and Bill Fellows. Bankside is handling sales.was commissioned at Film4 by producer Lauren Dark. She commissioned the first draft after seeing Hussain’s short film.
