This past season: The right-handed Lipinski collected 19 goals and 51 points in 68 appearances in his sophomore campaign with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants. He tallied eight times on the power play and was also a key piece on the penalty kill. Scouting report: “His puck possession is as good as anybody I’ve watched this year. He’s strong. We have to pick up the pace a little bit, but you see the upside with the skill, the ability down low.”This past season: The latest addition to the Flames’ puck-stopping pipeline, Yegorov posted a 9-4-0 record, a 2.29 goals-against average, a .915 save percentage and two shutouts for Dynamo Moscow in Russia’s top junior league.
Scouting report: “Yegor, he was high on Jordan’s list and he was excited to get him. He thought we might have to step up earlier to get him. To have him there in the sixth, that was exciting for us.”Axel Hurtig, middle, skated for Sweden in the U18 World Championships earlier this year.Position: Left-handed defencemanThis past season: Hurtig is a steady stay-at-home sort.
Scouting report: “He’s a bit of a project, but he has a great demeanour. He’s a physical defenceman and he’s really strong in his own end and now we just have to get him to branch out and add to his skill-set.”
