SIU fails to get interim interdict to stop Lepelle Northern Water employee from drawing pension
The Special Investigating Unit has failed to get an interim interdict preventing a former Lepelle Northern Water employee from accessing his pension, pending litigation relating to the alleged unlawful awarding of a tender to a company owned by controversial businessman Edwin Sodi.
The SIU approached the Special Tribunal with an urgent application seeking to prevent the former water utility general manager of operations, Ahuiwi Netshidaulu, from being paid out his pension benefits after the termination of his employment in December 2023. The investigating unit asked for the interdict because it intended to institute an action for damages against Netshidaulu for his participation in a procurement process that led to a tender being unlawfully awarded to Blackhead Consulting, of which Sodi is the director.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
