To date, 270 people have died and more than 2,000 injured in the conflict between the paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces, and the country’s armed forces.
JOHANNESBURG - Sudan's ambassador to South Africa, Osama Mahjoub, said that the country's armed forces had stabilised the situation in some parts of its capital city, Khartoum, after four days of violent fighting.

"They don't have kind of support or food or communication... they are just scattered around the capital without any leadership and the situation is under control by the army as far as I know."
