Sir Rod Stewart has paid tribute to The Queen as he announced his brother Don also passed away this week.
The legendary musician told fans on Instagram it had been a"devastating 48 hours" after his older brother died on Tuesday aged 94 and The Queen passed away on Thursday afternoon at Balmoral.
He said Her Majesty had been an"unwavering presence" in his life and sent his"deepest sympathies" to the Royal Family.The post read:"It has been a devastating 48 hours. We lost my brother Don on Tuesday at 94 and today we have all lost Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 96. "The Queen has been an unwavering presence throughout my life and a great unifier. A shining star that will never fade in our hearts and souls."God save the King."
